Q) Does the HYPrLock system work with Mac, iPhone,
Kindle or other eReader hardware?
A) NO! HYPrLock is a “PC” application and requires a
Windows operating system to function.
Fortunately, desktop, laptop and netbook PCs account
for about 95% of the computer market. That’s where
authors should concentrate their effort.
Mac computers and products like the iPhone, eReader
and Kindle (etc.) do not use the Windows operating
system. Therefore HYPrLock protected content can not
be used. However Mac’s running virtual “Windows”
have been able to use HYPrLock successfully.
There is a lot of hype about eBook Readers and tablet
computers but these systems only cater to a small
percentage of the overall PDF/eBook market.
While an iPhone can read PDF and text files, reading a
publication of any length is very difficult.
Publishing to dedicated eBook Readers seems
attractive, but these systems are incompatible and
difficult to target. Also their poor security systems are
not judged effective for copyright protection.
Q) How does HYPrLock compared with LockLizard?
A) We believe that the LockLizard Security system is
the only other PDF security system that provides a
similar level of protection for PDF content. HYPrLock
uses “on the fly” code and “invisible” PDF passwords
while LockLizard uses it’s own secure PDF “reader”.
Q) Does HYPrLock offer translations?
A) The HYPrLock program itself is only supplied in
English but HYPrLock PDF software comes with
translations covering key information seen by customers
(such as Ordering and Download instructions).
Translations include English, French, Spanish,
Portuguese, German, Turkish, Italian, Dutch or Custom.
(Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian etc).
Q) Can PDF files be opened outside of HYPrLock?
A) NO! HYPrLock protected PDF files use passwords
created "on the fly" by program code. These "hypr" PDF
files cannot be unlocked without a user “authorized”
HYPrLock program.
Q) Does HYPrLock work with Windows 7?
A) HYPrLock works with Windows XP, 2000, Vista
and Windows 7. It is installed in a standard “user”
account. Administrator permissions are not required.
Q) Does HYPrLock work with Acrobat X (10)?
A) HYPrLock works with Adobe Acrobat v5 to v10, the
Foxit PDF editor and any other PDF editor/printer
software that provides 128 bit security options and
follows the Adobe standards.
Q) What about screen captures?
A) Protecting against dedicated screen capture
programs or digital cameras is impossible. There is no
technology available today that can prevent all screen
capture possibilities.
Q) How does HYPrLock protect against hackers?
A) While no system can guarantee 100% security.
HYPrLock uses “on the fly” technology to open
encrypted code blocks in to active memory at “run time”.
This exclusive coding technique makes HYPrLock’s
operational code invisible to hackers and prevents the
use of “hacker” software -- making HYPrLock virtually
hacker proof.
Not only is HYPrLock’s program code hidden from
potential hackers -- it also monitors it’s own sub-system
files for any attempts to modify or change critical files. If
any modifications are detected, the program unregisters
itself and slams the door on any would be hacker.
Q) Does HYPrLock only work with PayPal and
ClickBank?
A) If a payment system can redirect the buyer to a
website URL after a purchase, it should work with
HYPrLock’s Automatic Password System.
Q) What is HYPrLock Remote Support?
A) While HYPrLock is distributed as a “do it yourself”
security system -- the HYPrLock Remote Support system
is offered to HYPrLock users having difficulty installing,
setting up or using the HYPrLock Security System.
With Remote Support a HYPrLock technician “takes over”
control of the users computer from a “remote” location.
This allows HYPrLock technical support to setup and/or
demonstrate HYPrLock operations in real time - right on
the HYPrLock users computer.
To use Remote Support an end user must authorize a
remote session.
Remote support can even be used to demonstrate
PDF/eBook creation, use specific HYPrLock features and
help a user set-up PayPal and ClickBank options.
*additional service fees or charges may apply.
Q) Can I install HYPrLock on a second computer?
A) A free 2nd copy of HYPrLock can be requested by
registered users - great for “on the road” access.
Q) How does HYPrLock protect against unauthorized
access?
A) Every time a PDF/eBook is opened, HYPrLock
checks to make sure no one has tampered with the
security system and that the user is authorized.
If HYPrLock detects a problem - it automatically locks
the PDF/eBook and unregisters itself.
Q) If HYPrLock is so good, Why does it cost so little?
A) GoldPanner Software is a small independent
software developer with low overhead and support
costs. Management believes everyone should have
access to affordable intellectual property protection.

Q) Does HYPrLock allow 1 time printing?
A) No. HYPrLock opens PDF files in Adobe Reader
so it can only provide the standard PDF printing
options -- you can choose to allow printing or not.
HYPrLock advises all authors that allowing printing
makes your PDF content vulnerable to PDF pirates
who can use readily available “print” software to
steal your material.
If you must allow printing, HYPrLock suggests that
you create a secure PDF file that protects your
intellectual property and an un-protected PDF file
for your printable material -- then bundle the two
PDF files into a distribution “zip” file.
Q) Is HYPrLock PDF is easy to use?
A) The HYPrLock PDF program automatically
produces an installer/uninstaller package complete with
a desktop icon (usually in less than a minute).
End users only need to enter their email address to
instantly get an activation password.
HYPrLock set-up on your own Server is provided free of
charge.
*file system skills are required.
Q) Why does HYPrLock freeze and fail to load?
A) Sometime Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam programs run
“real time” scans that interfere with HYPrLock’s own
security functions and prevent a smooth operation.
If a HYPrLock screen fails to load properly just click the
(F5) key to refresh the screen.
